Doors Open Toronto returns for its 18th year, May 27-28, 2017, with a special “Canada 150” edition featuring often-rare public access and special events at 150 of our city’s most historically, architecturally, socially and culturally relevant buildings. This year, the free, all-ages, citywide event is celebrating under the theme “15 Decades of Canadian Architecture.”

Founded in 1889 and completely restored in 2016, The Great Hall will be open to the public for Doors Open Toronto on Sunday, May 28, 2017 only. Explore our four Victorian event venues in a listed heritage building that was originally constructed as Toronto’s West End YMCA and has been a home and host to everyone from an incredible Boston Marathon winner to WWII Polish refugees, musicians, artists and politicians.

At 4 pm on Sunday, in storied Longboat Hall, The Great Hall will also host MIA: Where Are the Women Architects?, a panel discussion as part of Doors Open Toronto’s Open Insights speaker series.

Doors Open Toronto 2017 is part of TO Canada with Love, the City of Toronto’s year-long program of celebrations, commemorations and exhibitions marking Canada’s 150th birthday. Doors Open Toronto is presented by Great Gulf and produced by the City of Toronto in partnership with the Province of Ontario and the broader community.
