Our daughter got married at the Great Hall this past winter. It was a magical event made all the better by the incredible venue. We were able to accommodate a medium sized guest list from wedding vows through cocktails to dinner and dancing. Having access to the 3 distinct spaces enabled a smooth flow and great tone for each of the phases, by reducing and virtually eliminating any disruption from setup and take down of the various different phases of the wedding.

And not only is the venue beautiful at night, but the venue is well suited to decoration and addition of accent lighting to further amplify the scene. the upper floor cocktail space and balcony provided a cozy environment for guests with incredible views of the dinner setting on the main floor. For the dinner and late night dancing, having an elevated stage for the band was fabulous.

Additionally, working with the staff was easy as all were friendly, and the list of preferred vendors who were familiar with the space made coordination easy. In the end we have many incredible memories, and an unbelievable collection of photo’s from that night thanks to the incredible backdrop provided by the venue and staff!

Mark is an absolute dream to work with, and James, along with every staff member we encountered, was kind, responsive, and incredibly supportive. My husband and I had our wedding at the great hall and it was flawless. This was the only venue we saw we were blown anway and booked it immediately. We got ready in the drawing room, had our ceremony in the conversation room, cocktail hour on the balcony, and then reception in the main hall. Andrea was absolutely wonderful to work with and all the staff were fabulous and so attentive. The day absolutely perfect and we are so glad we chose the great hall for our special day. I’ve photographed several weddings in this beautiful space and I always love coming back! So much character and charm in the main hall. The light in the Drawing Room and the Conversation Room is beautiful for ceremonies & cocktail hour. Lovely staff too!

A beautiful facility for weddings or other special events or fund raising galas. If you’re planning an event I would certainly check this venue out. Very ornate and rich looking – loved the mezzanine in what I would call the grand ballroom that is complete with a stage. A perfect site for concerts or recitals. Several stately smaller rooms which can be used for a variety of smaller type events Stairs are a bit steep, but thankfully there is an elevator (no elevator to the mezzanine). Parking is difficult – you use a Green P or pray for a spot on the street. Staff were not very friendly. One bar staff spent several moments talking to someone that I believe they knew while the line grew longer. I would recommend that bar tenders, etc. being employed undergo service training. Otherwise – a lovely and well maintained venue!

Been here for multiple events and it is a super cool place. Not the most accessible space, lots of stairs, but the atmosphere is amazing. I’ve been to a wedding, a burlesque show, and a craft fair there and it’s always fun to be in that space.

We finally got to have our 2020 wedding in September of 2022. All things considered, management was extremely flexible and considerate during the entire process and our wedding eventually went off without a hitch. We had two bands, both sounded fantastic and said the in-house technician was wonderful. The service staff were incredibly kind, thoughtful and great at their jobs. It was a wonderful venue and we’re super happy we had our wedding in this beautiful space.

The venue hunt is always the biggest puzzle piece to a wedding and from the moment my husband and I walked into The Great Hall, it was love at first sight! The venue has such a wonderful energy and the most wonderful Victorian charm (stunning banisters, chandeliers, gold radiators, and all the details, details, details!), yet updated with all of the necessary modern amenities for an event (AC, state-of-the-art sound system, modern bathrooms, etc)…not to mention the stunning stage. We know that music would be the focal point of our wedding, so this space naturally captured our hearts since it is a music venue. Mark was our initial contact person and he was awesome to work with throughout the 1.5 years (we reserved quite a ways in advance). He had great insight for everything from rentals, to bands and little tidbits along they way (like how much pipe and drape is needed for a specific area and how much should it cost). He was also flexible and approachable, which is always helpful! This venue is amazing in every way and just really cool and easy to work with! It’s great for someone who has a vision and loves a blank slate (they do not provide the rentals, that’s up to you…but they have recommendations). Also, use AllSeated for your seating plans, it’s amazing! The items that you will need to consider, which Mark (or someone on the team) will fill you in on, is the landmark fee (the value of all food that comes in will be taxed this fee-it adds up, but this is how these historic spaces are able to stay in our community), venue rental fee (very reasonable) and bar fee (alcohol always adds up-there are options). We also worked with Victoria leading up to the event and the day of and after, she was absolutely a joy to work with…so lovely and helpful! I highly recommend the venue, if you are on the fence…you won’t regret it!

Victoria at The Great Hall was very accommodating, helpful and easy to work with. All the staff were extremely pleasant on bar and eager to assist loading in and out or in anyway they could. We loved it and cant imagine having had it anywhere else.

Easily one of the most, if not the most beautiful venue in Toronto! Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the team there is amazing too. From coordinating deliveries, pickups and photos, they were always willing to be flexible and accommodate our requests. I literally do not have words for how amazing, organized, friendly, kind and awesome at planning weddings, the great hall staff is. Not only is this venue beautiful, with its many rooms and vintage feel, but Mark and the other members of the team are all so knowledgeable about the great hall, it’s features and how to throw your dream wedding. From the very beginning they were able to provide accurate numbers and ideas for us, which made the planning process easier. They took care of the AV, lights etc, and unlike most venues the socan, av, security (etc) fees are included in the price they quote! they were so easy to communicate with, and overall were very accommodating with any of our requests. I would for sure recommend this venue, for it’s absolutely beautiful layout, ease for cocktail hour and photos, and above all the incredible staff!

We are so incredibly lucky that we stumbled upon the Great Hall. Walking down Queen Street one day we passed by it, looked in and were hooked. We met Mark Foster from the beginning – a true professional. An absolute pleasure to deal with. He made every accommodation possible for us, was so relaxed and easy going.

The venue itself was absolutely incredible. The acoustics are second to none for a live band. The location and the look were perfect. The cost extremely reasonable. The bar package they offer is fantastic. Mark and his crew accommodated our signature drinks without a hitch during cocktail hour. Their alcohol selection is very high end, and they are extremely flexible.

If you are looking for an original, one-of-a-kind wedding venue look no further then then Great Hall. Their staff are an absolute pleasure to deal with and you will not regret using this place to host the most important night of your life. We will never forget our wedding there, nor will any of our guests.
