Queer Songbook Orchestra

Marking 5 years since the inaugural performance of the Queer Songbook Orchestra, which took place at the beloved Videofag in March of 2014, the QSO are gathering to celebrate and reflect on many of the songs, stories and collaborations of the past years. Since that first show to a packed audience of 35 people, the QSO have gone on to perform all across Canada, played many of the countries largest arts festivals, released two albums and an short animated film, performed to kd Lang, and collaborated with over 150 writers, arrangers, musicians, guest singers and narrators from the 2SLGBTQ and allied communities from Whitehorse to St. Johns.

The ensemble will be joined by several special guests as they dive deep into the Songbook and present a mix of QSO classics and some of the lesser played material in the repertoire. All are welcome to join in this evening exploring and celebrating queer experience and the songs most deeply connected to them.
