Singer Leela James shares more than just a surname with late R&B great Etta James, she also matches those gritty, soulful powerhouse vocals, giving a new take to old school soul, from lusty ’90s-inspired R&B to sparer piano ballads.

Regardless of its place in of-the-moment popularity stakes,  Leela James has faithfully delivered a full range of authentic, soul music on five studio albums, including Loving You More, a tribute to Etta, and 2014’s Fall For You.

Now she’s back on tour with a relatable new track, “Don’t Want You Back” It’s the perfect song send-off for that clingy ex, and the lead single from her upcoming album.
